About the Metals
Silver: I use Eco Silver, which is a 100% recycled alternative to Sterling silver, processed in the UK. Eco silver is sourced from scrap jewellery, medical equipment, electronics and giftware. It has exactly the same properties and can be worked and worn in the same way as Sterling silver. Sterling is 92.5% pure silver.
Gold: I use 100% Recycled 9 carat gold ('Eco Gold').
Brass & Copper: I use solid brass and copper.
Gold Filled: Gold filled is a layer of gold pressure bonded to another metal. The weight of the gold is 5% of the total weight of the metal, and it is much more valuable and tarnish resistant than gold plated items as the gold doesn’t not flake or rub off over time, The metal I use is 14 karat Gold Filled.
Cleaning your jewellery
All of the metals above will tarnish over time and with humidity or water.
You can buy jewellery polish cloths, or you can buy metal polish from the supermarket or hardware shop to keep your jewellery shiny - for example Brasso or Silvo. There are also some home recipes for cleaning brass and silver jewellery available online.

Pres a Chopr: Rwy'n defnyddio pres a chopr solet.
Aur ‘Gold Filled': Mae ‘gold filled’ yn haenen o aur wedi'i fondio o dan bwysedd i fetel arall, tebyg i eurblat. Mae’r aur o leiaf 5% o gyfanswm pwysau'r metel, ac mae'n llawer mwy gwerthfawr nag eitemau eurblat gan nad yw'r aur yn dod i ffwrdd dros amser. Dwi’n defnyddio aur gold-filled 14 Karat.
